One of the sweetest moments of my life. This fair was amazing and the chocolates were incredibly tasteful.

Chocolate, winter, Italy. Enough said.

Italian jewelry

Beautiful (and expensive) jewelry from stores over Ponte Vecchio, in Florence. They have everything there: rings, necklaces, watches, gemstones, earrings, charms and anything else you can put around you. I was surprised with the vast array of materials they use to create these jewels.

I’m almost finished with my galleries from my trip to Belgium in February. I still got around 100 photos to sort, but it shouldn’t take more than a week to finish.

Travel photography is popular

My travel photography galleries at Flickr have never been so popular! This week I received requests from Schmap and Het PR Bureau, from the Netherlands. Schmap requested a photo of the beautiful Florence and Het asked some shots of the National Geographic Store in London. It is always a pleasure to see my work being recognized, specially from people from other corners of the world.

The singular art of Chris Jordan

Posted in Photography on April 4th, 2009 by Mario Troise – Be the first to comment

How can you make a shocking image with simple photographs? How can you turn an ordinary object into art? For Chris Jordan the answer is in the statistics. His “Running the Numbers” collections is a beautiful analysis of society through the numbers that we produce, such as the quantity of paper we use, the breast implants done every year, oil consumed and so on. “My hope is that images representing these quantities might have a different effect than the raw numbers alone”, says Chris.

Basically his works are huge photographic panels with thousands of objects disposed in specific shapes. When you come closer you realize what is forming all the colors are textures. Really amazing! Check the images below and don’t forget to visit Chris Jordan’s site.
