Wooden products

Posted in Product Design on July 23rd, 2009 by Mario Troise – Be the first to comment

After a couple of weeks designing, prototyping and playing with wood, I got the first product. It’s a pencil container, or holder. Designed for artists, it’s very useful to keep all your markers, pens or pencils. It makes it easy to see the colors and grab the pencil you want.

I don’t like to leave the blog alone for so long, but my days have been extremely busy. This is my return, and I’ve got 2 images to share. Both of them are part of a new product line I’m creating. It’s easy to discover what was my reference for the first one!

Yoyo illustrations for t-shirts

My friend Takeshi asked me to make an image for the Indiana State Yo-yo Contest, so I did this illustration this morning:

Simple but stylish, huh? I enjoy making yoyoing related art, but I’m starting to move to other fields such as skateboarding and snowboarding.

Here is another yoyoing design (this one is from Vulto):

Jana Schirmer

Posted in Drawing & Painting on April 28th, 2009 by Mario Troise – Be the first to comment

Jana is a german artist with a great experience in digital art and a taste for dark, imaginary characters. I like the smooth strokes and strong colors in her images. They remind me some comic books and films.

Speed painting (or matte painting, photoshop painting, you name it) is more popular than ever, but it is still hard to find artists that produce such quality works like Jana. If there is one thing to complain about it is that I really miss some pencil on paper sketches and ‘real’ paintings.

Enjoy here work and visit her gallery!

Daniela Uhlig is another great german illustrator. Make sure you check her gallery as well.

Artist Profile – Pacman23/Francisco Perez

Posted in Drawing & Painting on March 16th, 2009 by Mario Troise – 1 Comment

With illustrations mixing musical and urban influences, Pacman23 does much more than drawing rappers and sexy girls. His work is incredibly creative, far more authentic than most young illustrator that follow the same genres. I can’t remember how many times I found myself tripping through his sketches.  His gallery is well assorted, with colored illustrations, romantic drawings, sketches, monsters, animals and many cartoons. Very inspiring!
