Back from the gift fair

Posted in Drawing & Painting, News, Product Design on August 8th, 2009 by Mario Troise – Be the first to comment

Remember the project I said I was working with? I’m working as an art director at Smuzi, a fresh new design brand that produces utilities and packaging.

I’ve been out last week working at a gift fair called Brazil Promotion. We released all the products and got in touch with many new clients.

I’m organizing the photos now and will upload them soon. I just need some time to relax.

Wood art by Bartolucci

Posted in Photography, Product Design on July 30th, 2009 by Mario Troise – Be the first to comment

In January I visited this small shop in Firenze called Bartolucci, with hundreds of amazing wood products. ‘

I love how they handle every product (including the more “industrial” ones) with so much care. The colors, the finishing and the textures are really one of a kind.

You can find out more about it at bartolucci.com

From sketches to real products

Posted in Drawing & Painting, Product Design on June 30th, 2009 by Mario Troise – 1 Comment

These sketches were all approved and will become real products soon. I still have to confirm some production details, but everything else is done.

It’s always nice to see ideas like these becoming real!

Bad paper

Posted in Drawing & Painting on June 17th, 2009 by Mario Troise – Be the first to comment

This is all I got from a terrible paper for watercolor. If there is something that botters me is bad paper. Even for studying, cheap paper is always crap.

Things are getting better as the semester ends. I’m finally having more time to dedicate to my personal projects! I’m working on a game console concept and – finally – studying music theory again. I will keep the blog updated.

I’m back!

Posted in Product Design on June 10th, 2009 by Mario Troise – Be the first to comment

I don’t like to leave the blog alone for so long, but my days have been extremely busy. This is my return, and I’ve got 2 images to share. Both of them are part of a new product line I’m creating. It’s easy to discover what was my reference for the first one!

Yoyo illustrations for t-shirts

My friend Takeshi asked me to make an image for the Indiana State Yo-yo Contest, so I did this illustration this morning:

Simple but stylish, huh? I enjoy making yoyoing related art, but I’m starting to move to other fields such as skateboarding and snowboarding.

Here is another yoyoing design (this one is from Vulto):
